Note: This application covers all substitute roles, including food service, nurse/health tech, and proctor positions.

Application Review

All applications are reviewed in the order received. Be sure to include all relevant work and volunteer experience. While a resume is not required, it is highly recommended to submit one along with your application.

Selected Applicants

If you are selected to join the Boise School District as a substitute, you will receive an email with onboarding instructions. This includes completing an FBI Criminal Background Check, which requires fingerprinting and a fee of $28.25—unless you’ve had a fingerprint-based background check through the Idaho Department of Education within the past six months.

Substitutes applying for certified roles must also complete five online Certified Substitute Training Modules via the Vector training platform (approximately 72 minutes), unless they hold a current valid teaching certificate. Details about this training will be provided during onboarding.
