*This is for teacher substitutes only. To apply for Food Services or Custodial Substituting please fill out a classified application.

*Resume - per district policy, please do not include photo(s) on your resume


Apply for Substitute Vacancy:

To be considered for a substitute position, you must express interest by "adding" the substitute vacancy to your substitute application.


Application Review:

All substitute applications will be reviewed in the order they were received. Please be sure to include  all relevant experience and/or volunteer experience. A resume is not required, but is highly recommended to submit with your application.


Selected Applicants:

If selected to become a Boise School District substitute, you will be contacted via email with additional instructions on the onboarding process. Selected applicants will be required to complete an FBI Criminal Background Check which includes being fingerprinted and paying a fingerprint fee of $28.25.


Selected applicants interested in substituting as a certified substitute must complete our Certified Substitute Training course (approximately 3 hours of online instruction) unless they have a current valid teaching certificate. Information about this training will be given during your onboarding appointment.


Substitute Pay Rates for the 2022-23 School Year:

*Long-Term Pay - assignments for the same employee that are 10 or more consecutive days
