Critical Illness Insurance is a voluntary benefit that provides a lump-sum cash payment if you are diagnosed with a covered serious medical condition, such as cancer, heart attack, or stroke. This benefit helps support you financially during a health crisis by covering out-of-pocket expenses, household bills, or time away from work.
The amount paid depends on the severity and type of illness diagnosed — in some cases, a percentage of the total benefit is paid instead of the full amount.
This extra layer of protection can offer peace of mind when you need it most.
The Critical Illness Insurance plan year runs from September 1 through August 31.
Once enrolled, your coverage will automatically renew each year unless you make changes during the Spring Enrollment period or experience an IRS-qualifying life event (such as marriage, birth, or loss of other coverage).
You may cancel this voluntary benefit at any time.
