Protect Your Income When You Can’t Work
Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance is a voluntary benefit that helps replace a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to a serious illness, injury, or medical condition lasting beyond the short-term. Provided through New York Life, this coverage offers financial protection by helping you meet ongoing living expenses while you recover. LTD benefits typically begin after an extended waiting period and continue for as long as you're medically unable to work, up to the plan's benefit duration.
The benefit plan year runs from September 1st through August 31st. Once enrolled, your Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage will automatically renew each year.
You may elect LTD coverage at any time; however, if you enroll after your initial New Hire Eligibility period, you will be required to submit Evidence of Insurability (EOI) to New York Life for review and approval.
Please review the plan documents for details regarding pre-existing condition limitations. This voluntary benefit may be canceled at any time.
