Student Teachers
We appreciate your interest in becoming a Student Teacher in the Boise School District.
Below is information on the required actions to become a Student Teacher in the Boise School District. If you have questions, please email student.teacher@boiseschools.org.
A Student Teacher is defined as a student seeking academic credit through an accredited college or university for the purposes of gaining teaching certification and/or licensure. A student teacher is assigned to a teacher(s) for an extended period of time, usually one semester to one year in duration. This is generally the capstone event in a student's college or university program.
First Steps
Work with your University to be identified as a Student Teacher
You will receive email communication from the Boise School District when you have been assigned as a Student Teacher with information on the process steps and details
Required Actions
The following steps are required before attending a Student Teacher onboarding appointment:
Complete a Student Teacher Google Form (this will be emailed to you)
Register a WinOcular account (or login if you are already registered)
Submit a Substitute Teacher Application
Complete the following forms:
Federal I-9 Form - requires identification (Most common: Driver's License & Social Security Card or Birth Certificate OR a current passport). Click here for full instructions
Direct Deposit Form - voided check preferred (not required)

Attend a Student Teacher Onboarding appointment
Turn in completed forms
School ID picture will be taken
School ID Badge will be printed
