Early Notice of Retirement/Resignation

Overview
Certified Staff and Administrators:
If you work half-time (0.5 FTE) or more and know you won’t be returning next school year (due to retirement or resignation), the District encourages you to submit your notice early to help with staffing. Employees who qualify and submit BOTH required forms by the deadline will receive a $1,000 Early Retirement/Resignation Stipend.
Keep in mind that your decision to retire or resign will be made public at the April school board meeting.
Submission Deadline
Both forms must be signed and sent together to Human Resources (Attn: Susan Higley) by 4:00 PM on February 3, 2025. You can submit forms via:

How to Qualify for the Stipend
You work at least half-time (0.5 FTE) on a certified teacher or administrator contract.
You’re eligible for a contract for the 2025-26 school year.
By submitting your forms by 4:00 PM on February 3, 2025, you agree not to renew your contract.
You plan to work through the end of your 2024-25 contract.
Important Acknowledgements
This process is voluntary and your choice.
Your retirement/resignation will be announced at the April school board meeting.
Once approved, your decision is final and cannot be changed (except in certain “special circumstances” outlined in the Negotiated Agreement Article II., O.*
If a special circumstance occurs before May 9, 2025, you may return to your position if it’s available—or the District will place you in another qualified role.
If retiring, contact PERSI to confirm your retirement benefits (income, health insurance, etc.). Visit the Preparing for PERSI Retirement page for more information.
Your pay and benefits will continue through your last scheduled pay date.
How to Apply
Complete the Certified/Administrator Early Notice Stipend and Retirement/Resignation Forms.
Have your principal/supervisor sign both the Early Notice Stipend Form and the Retirement/Resignation Form.
Submit both fully completed forms to:

(Optional: You may include a personal letter with your forms, but this letter won’t replace the required forms.)
Once your forms are received, HR will send you a confirmation email to the address you provide.

Classified Staff:
If you work 20 hours per week or more and plan to retire or resign at the end of the 2024-25 school year, the District encourages you to submit your notice early. This helps with staffing, and you will qualify for a $500 Early Retirement/Resignation Stipend.
Keep in mind that your decision will be made public at the April school board meeting.
Deadline
Submit both forms together to Human Resources (Attn: Susan Higley) by 4:00 PM on February 03, 2025. You can send them via:

To Qualify for the Stipend
You currently work at least 20 hours per week.
You plan to work until the end of your 2024-25 work year.
By submitting your forms, you agree you won’t be eligible for re-employment with the District in 2025-26 for regular full- or part-time positions.
